“Public Outcry Over Double Standards: NAFDAC and VDM Under Fire for Ignoring Asari Dokubo’s ‘Spiritual Water’ While Targeting Prophet Jeremiah”

The recent viral video of Asari Dokubo allegedly feeding his recruits with ‘spiritual water’ has sparked significant public outrage. This controversy is fueled not only by the content of the video but also by the perceived double standards exhibited by regulatory bodies like NAFDAC and VDM.

*Watch Video*

While Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin faces intense scrutiny and investigations for his use of spiritual items, Asari Dokubo’s similar actions appear to have gone unchecked by these authorities. This discrepancy has led to widespread backlash, with the public actively trolling NAFDAC and VDM on social media for their perceived hypocrisy.

The public’s frustration is evident in the numerous memes, comments, and posts criticizing the regulatory bodies for what is seen as an unjust focus on Prophet Jeremiah. The discourse highlights a growing sentiment that faith and spiritual practices, deeply rooted in Nigerian culture, should not be criminalized or selectively regulated.

Many Nigerians view these practices as integral to their spiritual and cultural lives and are calling for fairness and equal treatment. The outcry is not just about one individual versus another; it’s a broader demand for respect and fairness in the regulation of spiritual practices. The public is urging NAFDAC to redirect its focus towards more pressing issues rather than targeting faith leaders who are part of Nigeria’s spiritual heritage.

IGP Bans Edo State Security Network from Participating in September 21 Governorship Election

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has issued a directive prohibiting the Edo State Security Network (ESSN) from participating in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024. The announcement was made during a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benin, Edo State.

In his address, the IGP emphasized that the responsibility for maintaining law and order during the election would be placed solely on the Nigeria Police Force, with support from other national security agencies. He underscored that no private or state-run security outfits would be permitted to operate during or after the election.

Egbetokun also stated that security aides assigned to high-profile individuals (VIPs) would be temporarily withdrawn for the duration of the election. He highlighted several election-related offenses, warning that anyone found in violation of these laws would face severe legal consequences.

“We will strictly enforce the Electoral Act and all other relevant laws to ensure a peaceful and orderly election. No acts of hooliganism, violence, or possession of weapons will be tolerated. Anyone caught will be charged accordingly,” Egbetokun warned.

Speaking on voter security, the IGP assured the public that the police, along with other national security agencies, are fully prepared to ensure that the election is conducted in a secure and peaceful environment.

Adding to the discussion, the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, informed stakeholders that efforts were being made to distribute uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across Edo State. He stated that the commission had initiated the collection process in all 18 local government areas in preparation for the election.

Prof. Yakubu reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, urging eligible voters to pick up their PVCs and participate in the democratic process.

The upcoming Edo State governorship election has drawn significant attention, and security remains a top priority for both INEC and law enforcement agencies as they work to ensure a smooth electoral process.

APC Campaign Council Accuses Governor Obaseki of alledgedly Orchestrating Mass Protests to Disrupt Edo Elections

The Edo State Governorship All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council has raised serious allegations against Governor Godwin Obaseki, accusing him of orchestrating mass protests to disrupt the state and the upcoming election. According to a statement by Prince Kassim Afegbua, the Director of Media for the campaign council, these protests are allegedly planned for sometime in September before the Elections

The statement claims that Obaseki outlined these plans during a meeting at the Edo State Government House in Benin City on September 8, 2024. Afegbua further alleged that individuals connected to the killing of Inspector Akor Onu, who have yet to surrender to the police, were involved in this meeting. Additionally, the statement accuses an Assistant Commissioner of Police of shielding these individuals and collaborating with Obaseki’s Chief Security Officer to obstruct law enforcement efforts.

Moreover, the APC Campaign Council highlighted the arrest of seven APC members and three PDP members by the Commander of the 4th Brigade at Inikorogha last week. According to the council, while the PDP members were released immediately, the APC members remained detained until their legal team intervened.

The statement also claims that Obaseki is encouraging other PDP-governed states to delay school resumption as part of a coordinated protest against the APC-led Federal Government. The APC Campaign Council has called on security agencies, particularly the Inspector General of Police, to take immediate action to prevent a breakdown of law and order in light of the forthcoming Edo governorship election.

Seven Archbishops, Revered Fathers Lead Protests Against NAFDAC Over Prophet Fufeyin’s Water Factory Sealing

Warri, Nigeria- In an unprecedented demonstration of unity, seven Archbishops and several Reverend Fathers have spearheaded a protest against the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Asaba, Delta State. Following its decision to seal Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin’s miracle water factory. The religious leaders are urging NAFDAC to reverse its decision, which they have called unjust and discriminatory.

The group released a statement criticizing the ban on the sale of Prophet Fufeyin’s miracle water. According to the clerics, various religious institutions in Nigeria utilize materials like miracle water as part of their faith practices, and Prophet Fufeyin’s ministry should not be singled out. They underscored that Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries, the church led by Prophet Fufeyin, has been selling the water for years without prior issues or complaints from NAFDAC.

The religious leaders further alleged that the agency’s actions were driven by personal biases and possibly bribery, rather than legitimate health or safety concerns. They pointed out that the water has provided economic benefits to the local community, with funds generated from its sale reportedly going to charity and supporting underprivileged residents.

Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, the founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries, echoed these sentiments, accusing NAFDAC of harassment. He maintained that the miracle water produced at his factory adheres to all required health and safety standards, and that the agency had failed to provide concrete reasons for the sealing of the factory. Fufeyin labeled the closure as a form of intimidation and an assault on his ministry.

The protests have gained significant momentum, with many local residents joining the religious leaders in condemning NAFDAC’s actions. Supporters argue that the closure has not only impacted Prophet Fufeyin’s church but has also imposed financial strain on the broader community. Many of them depend on the water, both spiritually and economically, as its sale was tied to charitable efforts aiding the less fortunate.

*Watch Video*

As tensions rise, all eyes are on NAFDAC, with speculation over whether the agency will reconsider its decision. The dispute could have larger implications, potentially affecting the relationship between Nigeria’s religious leaders, regulatory authorities, and local businesses.

The ongoing protests, coupled with the public outcry, suggest that this confrontation between Prophet Fufeyin’s supporters and NAFDAC may intensify before a resolution is reached. The outcome could set a precedent for how government agencies regulate religious institutions and their commercial ventures in Nigeria.

Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry Responds to Misleading Report by Punch Newspaper

The media department of Mercy Television, on behalf of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, has issued a formal response to an article published by Punch Newspaper and its online platform on September 8th, 2024.
The article, titled “NAFDAC Investigating Pastor Jeremiah’s Miracle Water, Soap – DG,” attributed statements to the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), which have sparked concern within the ministry and among its followers.

Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, a law-abiding Christian organization, expressed shock at the publication, stating that it does not accurately represent the facts surrounding the ministry’s interactions with NAFDAC.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to operating within the confines of Nigerian law, particularly the NAFDAC Act, and reiterated its adherence to the constitutional rights of freedom of religion as enshrined in Sections 38 and 39 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution.

The press release clarified that the only pending issue involving the ministry and NAFDAC arises from a petition by one Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman.

The ministry disclosed that Mr. Otse had previously forged church receipts to bring a complaint against the ministry to NAFDAC’s Asaba office.

The church responded promptly to an invitation from NAFDAC on August 27th, 2024, but noted that it was given less than 12 hours to appear. Despite the short notice, the ministry communicated its position to NAFDAC and provided the necessary documentation.

Further, the ministry pointed out that the receipts presented by Mr. Otse were different from the authentic receipts issued by the church, a fact that has been confirmed through an ongoing police investigation.

The press release criticized Punch Newspaper for not reaching out to the ministry for its side of the story, resulting in what it described as “bad journalism” and a “vindictive mission” against the church.

*Watch Video*

The ministry also refuted claims made in the Punch article suggesting that it uses NAFDAC’s name to deceive the public. Senior Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, the spiritual leader of the ministry, has never engaged in any deceptive practices involving NAFDAC, the statement affirmed.

The ministry disclosed that on September 2nd, 2024, its representatives, including the Head of Administration, Elder Oguluoa Fufeyin, honored an invitation from NAFDAC’s Asaba headquarters. Contrary to Punch’s report, the church representatives fully cooperated with the investigation.

In closing, the ministry reiterated its commitment to Christianity and its right to religious expression, including the use of spiritual items, which are central to its faith practices.

The ministry called on the public to disregard the Punch article, noting that NAFDAC’s investigation is still ongoing. The ministry assured its members and the public that it would continue to communicate with NAFDAC and take legal action against any unfounded allegations.

Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry remains steadfast in its mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to practice its faith without interference. The ministry will not be deterred by what it sees as efforts to undermine its religious freedoms.

Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin’s Lawyers Clear the Air: VDM Accused of Misleading the Public

In a heated response, the legal team representing Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin has labeled allegations made by VeryDarkMan (VDM) as deceptive and misleading. During a recent statement, the lawyers emphasized, “We wrote to the court to bring the circumstances to the light of his lordship.” They strongly refuted the claims made by VDM, accusing him and his team of spreading falsehoods to the general public.

The court has now brought to light that the purchase receipt, which VDM paraded as evidence, is allegedly fake and manipulated. According to the legal team, this is a serious offense, with the court indicating that VDM forged the receipt with the intent to deceive the unsuspecting public—a crime that could result in severe legal consequences.

As the case heads to trial, the High Court’s revelations suggest that VDM could face prosecution, with the possibility of ending up behind bars if found guilty of forgery and public deception.

The campaign trail of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC governorship candidate, has been hit by yet another violent incident, allegedly carried out by thugs loyal to the PDP. This latest attack occurred as Okpebholo’s campaign team arrived at Ugbekpe Ekperi Ward 6 in Etsako Central local government, following successful rallies in Anegbette and Udaba.

This marks the third attack on Okpebholo’s campaign. Earlier incidents in Benin and Akoko Edo resulted in significant casualties and damage, with the Benin attack tragically claiming the life of Inspector Akor Onu and the Akoko Edo attack leading to the destruction of APC campaign vehicles.

The repeated assaults on Okpebholo and his team highlight growing concerns about the commitment of the PDP to a peaceful and transparent election in Edo State. The continued targeting of the APC candidate suggests an escalating threat to the safety of both the candidate and his supporters.
